Ylöjärvi, FinlandParmaranta is a lakeside home on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi, surrounded by forest and open water views. Once a simple red summer house, it has been thoughtfully rebuilt into a comfortable year-round retreat with three bedrooms, two saunas, and a terrace overlooking the lake.
Inside, the style is clean and relaxed, with large windows bringing light and nature into the living spaces. Guests can enjoy the indoor electric sauna or the separate wood-fired sauna by the shore, take a swim from the pier, or spend evenings gathered around the firepit.
Located in Ylöjärvi, about 25 minutes from Tampere, Parmaranta offers a combination of lakeside living and local convenience, a comfortable base for swimming, paddling, and exploring the nearby cafés, forests, and small-town sights.

Parmaranta is in Mutala, Tampere, along the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in the Pirkanmaa region. The area’s lakeside and forest setting creates a calm, balanced environment. Close enough to the city for convenience, yet surrounded by nature, it’s a quiet spot to enjoy forest trails and lake views.
From The Owner
We bought the original red "mummon mökki" (Grandmother´s cottage) house five years ago and decided to preserve its frame, extending the structure to include a master bedroom, an additional bedroom, a sauna, and a bathroom. Essentially, the construction started in late 2023 is entirely new, except for the original fireplace, which remains as a nod to the original "mummon mökki."
The sauna cottage, complete with an extra room, was built in the 1990s. Originally, the extra room had a small kitchen, but this was later removed when the main house was built. The sauna cottage has been in use throughout the year, with the outhouse serving as the only bathroom until the new house was completed.
The large rocks and much of the landscaping you see around the property were added by us, giving the area its distinctive look today. A couple of "marjapuska" (berry bushes), however, are original to the site and are there for guests to enjoy in the summer.

Seitseminen National Park
Seitseminen National Park is rich in both natural beauty and cultural history. Originally a remote area sparsely settled in the 1800s, it became known for forestry, with logging and timber floating as key livelihoods. In the 1920s, massive logging took place, and some of the park’s tall spruces were even used for ship masts as part of Finland’s war reparations to the Soviet Union. Notably, the ancient Multiharju forest has remained untouched since the 1910s and was officially protected in the 1950s. The park itself was established in 1982, preserving this unique blend of forest history and pristine wilderness.
Villa Vino Summer Café
Villa Vino is a small, cosy café in walking distance from the property. Burgers, pizzas, oven-baked potato meals and pastries are on the menu.

Just a short boat ride from the Tampere city center, Viikinsaari Island is a summer paradise with nature trails, picnic spots, swimming beaches, and seasonal restaurants. It’s the perfect escape for relaxation and family fun. During Summer, a wide range of events offer entertainment for visitors at any age.
