Hyvinkää, FinlandRitva is a modern three-bedroom lakefront home about 50 minutes from Helsinki. Set on a southwest-facing slope, it features open lake views, a sunny terrace, and a glass conservatory that connects the indoors with the surrounding garden. A separate sauna building by the shore includes a wood-fired hot tub and drop-design fire pit.
The main villa combines contemporary design with practical comfort. Large windows fill the living area with light, while the kitchen and dining space are arranged for easy cooking and shared meals. Two bedrooms and a guesthouse provide flexible sleeping arrangements, with soft linens and essential amenities throughout.
Outdoors, guests can swim from the private pier, paddle or row on the lake, and enjoy the fenced garden with pets or children. With its combination of space, privacy, and modern details, Ritva offers a comfortable base for families or small groups to spend time by the water.

Practicalities
Shower: The shower is located in the separate sauna building, just a few steps from the main house. Guests are kindly asked to use the shower facilities there during their stay.
Hot Tub: The wood-fired hot tub is available at no extra cost although it does need to be filled and heated which takes in total approximately 4 hours. It is very important to make sure the tub is completely filled before lighting a fire (otherwise the stove will break). We have very clear instructions and are able to assist you if necessary.
Garden: The garden is fully fenced but be a bit cautious as there may be some small gaps.
Pier: The pier is removed during the winter

Nurmijärvi is located about 30–40 km north of Helsinki, making it part of the greater metropolitan area yet retaining a strong rural character.
The landscape in this area is a mix of forested patches, rolling fields, minor watercourses, and small lakes, a quieter zone between the denser centres and the more built-up southern parts. The local roads wind through villages and countryside, connecting you to the nearest services, trails, and natural spots.
Within Nurmijärvi you’ll find points of local interest such as Taaborinvuori, a cultural hill featuring museums and an open-air theatre that celebrates the legacy of Finnish author Aleksis Kivi.
The area also includes lakes like Valkjärvi, where local shores and beaches offer water access in summer.
Though set in a more tranquil stretch, the location gives relatively direct access to the main transport routes and nearby centres, making it possible to balance countryside calm with broader region connections.

Myllykoski Nature Trail
Myllykoski Nature Trail ( Myllykosken Luontopolku) is a nature trail in Nurmijärvi that follows the Myllykoski rapids along the Vantaanjoki River. The 2–3 km loop passes through forest and across small bridges, with a lean-to shelter for breaks. It’s a pleasant, easy walk suited for families and short outings.
Sipoonkorpi National Park
Sipoonkorpi National Park lies just outside Helsinki and showcases southern Finland’s forests, lakes, and quiet trails. For an easy walk, the Byabäcken Nature Trail (1.6 km) winds through forest and fields, while the Kalkinpolttajanpolku Trail (4.8 km) climbs Högberget hill with views and campfire spots. Other options, such as Knuters Trail (3.8 km) and the Storträsk–Gumböle loop (2.8 km), pass lakes and forest paths. Most routes suit families year-round, though some include steeper or rocky sections.
